NOAH CLARKE, cello

NOAH CLARKE is 17 years old and studies cello with Andras Weber. Noah is also a pianist and studies with Aster Lai. Noah has completed the Royal Conservatory of Music Associate Diploma (ARCT) for Performance in both instruments with First Class Honours with Distinction. In 2024 Noah placed first both at the Toronto Kiwanis Festival as well as the Ontario Provincials.

Significant past performances include premiering the late Richard Herriott’s “Rhapsody Canadien for solo piano and orchestra” in multiple cities in Austria and Italy in 2023, and being a featured artist with the Canadian Sinfonietta in 2024. Noah was also a featured soloist with the York Chamber Ensemble last month, performing Saint-Saens’ Cello Concerto. Currently Noah is the principal cellist for the CS Youth Orchestra and is in his third year as a member of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Noah is a grade 12 French Immersion student at Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute where he also plays the trumpet (studying privately with Paul Sanvidotti) in the school band and orchestra.

When not playing music, Noah also has many academic interests. Last year he competed in the University of Waterloo International Avogadro Chemistry Exam and came in first place out of 5081 contestants around the world.
