Miles Nghiem

MILES NGHIEM began his cello studies at the age of five with Susan Gagnon. He currently studies at the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists at The Royal Conservatory of Music in the studio of Paul Widner, where he continues to develop his musical voice and expressive playing. He is also a member of the Canadian Sinfonietta Youth Orchestra.

Miles has received numerous awards for his expressive and engaging performances, including Royal Conservatory of Music Regional Gold Medals, the Ann Southam Award, and the National Mary Gardiner Award for Performance Excellence at the Toronto Contemporary Showcase. He has earned First Place at the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, Star MVP Music Festival, Unionville Music Festival, Richmond Hill Music Festival, and the OMFA Provincial Finals, as well as Second Place at the Canadian Music Competition National Finals and the Interlochen Concerto Competition.

Outside of music, Miles enjoys travelling, exploring new cultures, and learning new languages. He is currently a Grade 7 student at the Lycée Français de Toronto.
