JUN PARK, VIOLIN

Jun Park is a former concertmaster of the CSYO, and is currently studying Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Since graduating from the CSYO, Jun has had the opportunity to be part of several student music initiatives, such as the McMaster Chamber Orchestra, the Health Sciences Musical, and the Mac Med Musical. Today, Jun is an active part of community music initiatives such as IMHope, an organization which performs for seniors homes in Hamilton, and also recently took part in a benefit concert for The Hub, an organization providing essential services for the homeless population in Hamilton.

“My time in the CSYO was one of tremendous growth. I started out as a novice violinist, and eventually took on the role of concertmaster within the orchestra. It was an excellent environment for musical exploration, being surrounded by remarkably gifted young musicians, as well as a loving, supportive community of parents. The guidance and leadership provided by Maestro Tak Ng Lai was also invaluable. I will never forget my time as part of the CSYO and hope that the next generation will also have opportunities to build life-long friendships, and to perform, tour, and grow together.”
