Eli Guo is a 19-year-old aspiring flutist. He played First Flute in the Canadian Sinfonietta Youth Orchestra from 2015-2020. He is now a second-year university student at McGill University, majoring in Flute Performance. Eli has played as a principal flutist in the McGill Symphony Orchestra since his very first year in the university.
Eli first began learning flute with Nikki Novikova, who was former principal flute of the St.Petersburg Philharmonic. Eli then continued his studies with Ms. Julie Ranti, the principal flutist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. At present Eli is studying with Professor Carolyn Christie at McGill.
Eli has shown his passion for music from a very early age. He started to play piano when he was only 4 years old and started playing the flute at 11 years old. Since then, he has participated in a wide
variety of music festivals (e.g. Kiwanis Music Festivals every year) and performed at various occasions.
Eli now aspires to become a premier flutist of his generation in the future.
